CW: reference to sexual assault

I saw his face when I least expected it, smiling at me from a corner-mounted television in a crowded café in Prague. “Do you know what this is about?” I asked the woman standing in line behind me as I pointed at the muted news program. She shrugged her shoulders dismissively. “Some actor is being accused of sexual assault by five women.” She had hardly finished her sentence when I started laughing uncontrollably, tears streaming down my face, the occasional sob escaping my lips. No one had heard my pleas that night, but six voices would scream louder than one.
