Too Dangerous?

Only one time did my dad tell me something was too dangerous. Climbing trees, skinning knees, falling off bikes, go-carting down hills, building things, breaking things, getting lost in the woods, and floating down rapids—everything was fair game until that time my brother and I tried a physics experiment. What would happen if he drove our Honda Accord with me lying on the hood, and he slammed the brakes suddenly? How far would I fly? It was all fun and games until Dad came out to say, ever so quietly, "Don't ever let me catch you doing that again."
